ABOUT
OVERVIEW
I work at the intersection of governance, strategy and institutional leadership in the tertiary sector. My focus is on the challenges boards and senior leaders face as institutions become more complex, more data-rich and increasingly shaped by emerging technologies.
BACKGROUND
My career has spanned executive leadership, board work and applied research. I have worked extensively in higher education and bring together sector knowledge, governance experience, and longstanding work in research governance, data governance and institutional evidence systems. Earlier in my career, I led major national programs including the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching and the Australian Early Development Census.
PERSPECTIVE
Much of my thinking is driven by a simple view: complexity is now a more useful frame than disruption. Disruption may be episodic, but complexity is what institutions have to live with. The governance task is to navigate that complexity with enough clarity and judgement to remain effective.
CURRENT FOCUS
I am particularly interested in the questions that arise when institutions rely on increasingly complex systems to make decisions, manage risk and demonstrate performance.
